An educational institution in the UK is seeking a full-time teacher to deliver Level 3 Vocational Criminology starting January 2026. The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion for criminology and effective teaching strategies, contributing to a supportive environment with high expectations for student achievement. Join a collegial team committed to professional development and inclusive education.
To start January 2026 or as soon as possible in the spring term the College is looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher to deliver Level 3 Vocational Criminology. We are looking for a full‑time member of staff with dynamism and passion for their subject to start in the new academic year. With a friendly, supportive team and exceptional College facilities, this is an exciting time to join our growing College. Applications from ECTs and teachers in schools and sixth‑form college sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is provided to introduce all new staff to sixth‑form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development.
We expect high performance from all our staff and candidates should demonstrate their ability and suitability to both the role and the culture of the College. The Department is a successful area of the College that includes Criminology (Vocational) and Psychology (A Level). As a direct result of the growth in student numbers, the social sciences area was split into two separate departments for Psychology and Criminology (Behavioural Sciences) and Sociology and Health & Social Care (Social Sciences). Our expectations are high and our students value the support that both departments offer to ensure they excel and meet their potential. This includes regular study support workshops – the department currently runs five workshops per week, bookable 1:1s for personalised support, target‑setting, and an intensive revision programme, as well as working to develop exam skills and improve literacy. The department hosts a range of extra‑curricular activities including university guest speakers and museum visits. As part of the Woking Way programme, the College offers the opportunity for wider learning through the short‑courses programme. Recent courses include "Ethics in Psychology: the implications of research in shaping behaviour" where students gained an appreciation of ethical implications of psychology research and how this has affected or continues to affect wider society; as well as a short course to introduce students to academic research to learn key skills relevant to many university degrees.
Why work with us? Woking College has a strong sense of community in which everyone is valued; we look forward to welcoming new members of staff to join our team. We have an inclusive ethos, and are proud of our diverse students and staff community. The College is committed to safeguarding, alongside our core values of inclusiveness, adhering to the highest personal, professional and academic standards, supporting individual wellbeing, supportive management and positive relationship and a sustainable future for all. We expect all staff, volunteers and others involved in the College community to share this commitment.
