About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Art Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive Creative Arts department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and departmental needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and stimulating Art lessons that inspire students and promote progress.
  • Teach across multiple key stages, ensuring work is appropriately challenging and accessible to all learners.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates creativity, cultural diversity, and individual artistic expression.
  • Contribute to developing schemes of work, curriculum enrichment, and whole-school creative initiatives.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing effective feedback to support learning and attainment.
  • Manage and organise Art resources, studio spaces, and displays to maintain an inspiring learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, open evenings, and extracurricular activities such as Art clubs or exhibitions.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement, and engagement in line with school policies.
Person Specification
Essential:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards completion of QTS.
  • A degree in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related creative discipline.
