Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a qualified teacher of A level Biology looking for a supply role in a prestigious college from January 2026?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a specialist Biology teacher to join one of the best sixth‑form colleges in the country. This is a full‑time supply teacher role from January 2026 to April 2026.

The Role

Teacher of A Level Biology and BTEC Applied Science.

Five or four days a week (timetable to be confirmed).

Normal teaching hours in the college are 9am to 4pm.

Delivery of outstanding lessons in Biology and Applied Science.

A talented Biology teacher with excellent subject knowledge.

Innovative teacher able to ensure students achieve higher education aspirations.

A team player able to support an expanding Science Faculty.

The college is interested in hearing from early career teachers and experienced QTS teachers.

One of the largest sixth‑form colleges in the country.

Oversubscribed Catholic college in the centre of Manchester close to Manchester's universities.

Caters to the needs of over 3,700 students aged 16 to 19 from a variety of backgrounds and faiths.

The department has a fantastic record of delivering extremely high A level and BTEC grades with a high proportion of students going on to study biology and science at university.

• Have a teaching qualification either for post‑compulsory education or secondary education (PGCE / PCET).
• This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
