Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a Maths Teacher for the Adult Skills Programmes to instruct GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths. Ideal candidates will possess a strong record in teaching Maths and be able to support learners with diverse needs.

Maths Teacher – Adult Skills Programmes (Sessional)

Grade B – £28,598 – £34,434 (consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review)

Overview

Birmingham Adult Education Service (BAES) is looking for experienced teachers of GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths from Entry 2 to Level 2 for the academic year 26/27 to ensure that Maths learners have the best possible experience, achieve the best outcomes and are well prepared for their next steps.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality learner‑centred teaching, learning and assessment which meets learners’ needs, especially additional support needs and stretch and challenge.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record of impactful Maths delivery.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to ensure that learners achieve their long‑term goals.
  • Share and promote good practice.
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance of accreditation.
Requirements and Conditions
