Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for a skilled, compassionate and dedicated teacher with experience of supporting children with SEND / SEMH needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) to join our vibrant team at our SEND school and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).

Alder Brook is part of the LINK Trust. The LINK Education Trust is an inclusive partnership of mainstream and special schools in Salford, where all pupils enjoy learning. Within our Trust community, we work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for all. Alder Brook values every individual and strives to develop the whole child. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for pupils with social and emotional needs whilst ensuring academic progress. We provide a creative, exciting and inclusive curriculum that all our children enjoy, building their self-confidence and providing every child with the necessary tools to become successful in the future.

As a SEND / SEMH Teacher at Alder Brook, you will work with a group of children, providing tailored support and interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning, supporting children to thrive in an educational setting. Experience across all Key Stages is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, understanding, and skilled in supporting behaviours which challenge, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

You will :
  • Believe that every child can reach their potential through adaptive, personalised teaching.
  • Hold a moral commitment to learning and achievement through a personalised primary curriculum.
  • Have knowledge of SEND developments and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Embrace high expectations of learning and behaviour and be committed to engage pupils with a range of pastoral and academic challenges.
  • Be an effective team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Possess an unswerving belief in reflection, collaboration, teamwork and feedback.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication / people skills and unlimited good humour.
