Job summary

Five Rivers is seeking Secondary School Teachers for Ilford, delivering English, Science or Math to KS2–KS4. You may teach in classroom or in the community on a 1‑to‑1 basis, within a trauma‑informed, attachment‑aware framework.

Qualifications

  • NQTS or QTS registration required. Background in teaching English, Science or Math is desirable.
  • Experience in specialist education provision or commitment to therapeutic education preferred.
  • Ability to work with trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding practices.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and full driving licence is desirable for community work.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in school or in the community on a 1‑to‑1 basis to support children who cannot attend school.
  • Deliver bespoke therapeutic educational frameworks tailored to each child.
  • Work within a trauma-informed practice model and support therapeutic approaches.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Our school is growing; we are looking for Secondary School Teachers to join our school in Ilford. You will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

We are interested in speaking with Secondary teachers with experience in teaching English, Science, Math. from KS2 – to KS4

As a Teacher at Five Rivers, your day will be varied and interesting. You will follow a flexible structure whilst supporting our children and young people by providing bespoke therapeutic, educational frameworks that are tailor‑made to each child and young person; you could be teaching in the classroom or out in the community to support children who cannot attend school.

You will be teaching in our school and in the community on a 1-2-1 basis.

You will work within a Trauma-informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice. Our schools have been awarded the ‘Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School Gold Award’.

Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we are looking for committed and dedicated people who want to continue their career with a therapeutically based organisation, Ofsted registered schools and leading alternative education provision (1 ACE).

Our leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the Education sector. We source and deliver up‑to‑date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.

Hours

Term Time: this goes in line with the local authority.

Our full‑time hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 am -16:30pm

The role is full‑time over five days per week; however, if you would like the opportunity for part‑time hours, we would be happy to speak to you about this.

Requirements
  • Good written and IT skills

  • NQTS or QTS registration
  • Valid Driving License for our work in the community is desirable
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
