An alternative provision in London is seeking an ICT + Science and Maths Teacher to support vulnerable students in KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will design engaging lessons tailored to diverse needs and maintain a supportive classroom environment. Collaboration with various stakeholders is essential to ensure every pupil receives appropriate support. Candidates with QTS or equivalent qualifications are encouraged to apply. This role requires an enhanced DBS check and original qualifications before placement.
Working in partnership exclusively with Horizon Teachers, this all-through (KS1–KS4) alternative provision in Lambeth supports pupils who cannot access mainstream education due to exclusion, illness, unmet SEN needs or other complex factors. The provision operates across two sites, an SEMH setting in West Norwood and a PRU setting in Kennington, and also offers respite placements to schools across all key stages.
The ICT + Science and Maths Teacher will play a central role in delivering high‑quality learning across these core subjects for pupils in KS3 and KS4. The role requires an adaptable and creative teacher who can design and deliver engaging lessons suited to a wide range of abilities and needs. The teacher will draw on relational and trauma‑informed approaches to behaviour management, maintaining high expectations while offering a supportive, predictable and caring classroom environment. They will assess learning regularly, identify gaps in understanding and create targeted interventions that help students progress academically and emotionally. Close collaboration with pastoral teams, SEN specialists, external agencies, parents and carers is an essential part of the role. The teacher will contribute to a curriculum that blends academic learning with personal, social and life‑skills development, ensuring each pupil receives a tailored package of support.
Teaching roles require Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. All candidates will need to hold an enhanced DBS check and provide copies of original qualifications before any work placement.
