Saffery Champness in Manchester invites applicants for a School Leaver Corporate Tax Trainee role, commencing September 2027. You will study towards the ACA/CTA joint qualification while gaining practical tax experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.

The programme combines structured tuition with on-the-job learning, including a Kaplan-designed six-week business simulation to build teamwork, decision-making and leadership skills. Progression is clear and mentorship is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 120 UCAS points from top 3 A Levels or Highers.
• GCSE/National 5 Maths and English at 6 (B) or above.
• AAT Level 4 exemptions available; otherwise ACA/CTA syllabus required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax returns, computations and compliance filings for varied clients.
• Analyse financial data to support reporting and submissions.
• Use tax software and systems to deliver high-quality work.
• Conduct technical research and support client projects and advisory work.
• Prepare reports and documentation for review by seniors.
• Build relationships with clients and colleagues across industries.
