Saffery LLP is seeking a qualified corporate tax specialist to join the Mid-Market and Not-for-Profit team. You will deliver tax advisory and compliance services with a focus on Natural Capital, while coordinating with VAT, employment and stamp tax specialists.
The role includes business development, mentoring junior colleagues and working across leading Natural Capital clients in a hybrid working environment.
The successful candidate will be part of our wider Mid-Market and Not-for-Profit team. You will be responsible for managing a diverse client portfolio, encompassing the delivery of both corporate tax advisory and compliance services. There is the expectation that a proportion of the work will be focused on the Natural Capital sector, however there will also be the opportunities to assist on other advisory projects that the team are undertaking.
You do not need to have direct experience in the Natural Capital sector as this is such a new and rapidly evolving industry. The ideal candidate will need to bring a wide skill set of experience in tax advisory projects, a keen interest to learn about Natural Capital and a passion for the work that they are helping deliver.
There will be the opportunity to work with a number of the country's leading Natural Capital businesses, including those engaged in Rewilding, Biodiversity Net Gain, Carbon sequestration, Landscape Recovery Schemes and Natural Flood Management projects. These clients share a deep passion for delivering positive impact for the environment whilst making sure that their business models are financially sound and provide their investors with a commercial return. Saffery is already established as a leading advisor to this sector and there is now a need to grow our specialist capacity to service our existing clients as well as work with new clients in this rapidly growing sector to help them realise their goals.
The successful candidate will have expertise in tax advisory work particularly tax structuring projects and will likely have worked advising businesses in a wider property sector such as real estate funds, infrastructure or landed estates. They will have experience of coordinating advice from specialists such as VAT, employment and stamp taxes and managing projects with a number of stakeholders and contributors.
Part of the role will be business development, both in terms of helping market Saffery's services to the Natural Capital sector, as well as developing and growing the wider team to help strengthen the firm's offering in this sector.
This is a challenging and interesting client facing role, which will include exposure to a range of clients.
