Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate in our local tax office. You'll meet with clients to gather information, prepare complete tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates, and explain tax information clearly so clients understand recommendations.

This in-person role offers a competitive hourly rate with opportunities to increase earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role, working alongside a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience in customer service.
• Strong communication and ability to understand client needs.
• Problem-solving and information organization.
• Comfort using digital tools including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

About The Role

As a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you’ll begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. With training and support from day one, you’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills and strong client relationships. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Required Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
• Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needsAbility to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
