A well established public accounting firm in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Associate to prepare and review various tax returns, mentor junior staff, and communicate directly with clients. The ideal candidate has a CPA license or is pursuing one, along with strong Excel and communication skills. Salary range: $70,000 – $78,000
Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
Review and provide feedback to interns and associates on tax work
Communicate directly with clients to gather information and resolve tax questions
Research and apply tax laws to assist in planning and compliance strategies
Stay updated on changing tax regulations
Support and mentor less experienced staff to promote team development
Collaborate closely with partners to deliver exceptional client service
CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing with at least two parts passed)
Proficiency with advanced Excel functions and tax software
Ability to prioritize partner needs across diverse client portfolios
Strong professionalism and communication skills for client interaction
Ambitious mindset with a desire to grow within a long-established firm
