Tax Adviser - Specialist Chambers Opportunity

We're looking for a talented UK Chartered Tax Adviser to join a specialist tax advisory chambers working on some of the most complex and high-value matters in the field. If you have at least three years' post-qualification advisory experience and a passion for deep, technical tax work, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team, working alongside experienced tax counsel on both advisory and contentious matters. The role is office-based and involves independent legal research using online databases and printed texts, often under time pressure. It's a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment where precision and clarity are key.

We welcome applicants with experience from law firms, accountancy practices, wealth managers, trust corporations, or family offices. This role is best suited to someone already immersed in advisory work, rather than those seeking a first move from compliance.

What we’re looking for
  • Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear, articulate written and spoken English
  • Deep understanding of English legal principles relevant to tax
  • Experience drafting detailed advisory reports and communicating complex ideas clearly
  • Confidence in dealing with high-net-worth clients and their professional advisers
Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential
  • UK direct taxes (Income Tax, CGT, IHT, SDLT, ATED)
  • Private client tax (residence, domicile, offshore structures)
  • Corporation Tax and VAT for SMEs and investment entities
