Job summary

ACCA Careers in Hailsham is seeking a Tax & Accounts Specialist to lead accounting and tax compliance for a professional services firm. Based in Hailsham, you will ensure accurate financial management and offer expert tax advice while working within a small, collaborative team.

You will review client financial statements, guide junior staff, and maintain compliance with UK tax and accounting standards, with a hybrid 1 day per week from home arrangement.

Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in accounting or tax (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent.
• Experience in account preparation and tax compliance.
• Strong understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.
• Ability to manage client relationships effectively.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confidence in reviewing and improving financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Oversee tax compliance processes, including self-assessment returns, VAT and corporate tax returns.
• Provide tailored tax advice and planning strategies to clients.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
• Review financial statements and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Support junior team members with training and technical guidance.
• Communicate directly with clients to address queries and build strong relationships.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
