Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Targeted Services Officer to work with children and young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You will engage with young people and their families in homes, schools and the community to support positive programmes and diversion from anti-social behaviour.

The role requires experience in supporting families, conducting assessments, and collaborative intervention planning, with driving as an essential requirement for community work.

The role:

• The successful applicant will work with children and young people who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You will engage with young people and their families in homes, schools and in the community
• As a Targeted Services Officer you will have experience of supporting young people and families to overcome barriers and to build on their strengths to successfully engage them in positive programmes to divert them away from anti-social behaviour and criminality through assessments and collaborative intervention-planning
• As it is expected that you will be working within communities it is essential that you are a car driver

This role is fixed term for the purpose to undertake specific work in relation to the Turnaround Project and will end 31 March 2029.
