Primary Purpose

The HR Advisor will serve as a key point of contact for first‑line HR support across the Coach & Kate Spade New York retail business in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Austria. Reporting to the European HR Director and working in partnership with the Senior HR Advisor and local area managers, this generalist HR position focuses on employee relations in the UK and Ireland while providing administrative support across all four markets.

Responsibilities
  • Manage employee relations matters in compliance with local legislation and HR best practice.
  • Attend formal meetings as the HR representative, take notes and create the relevant paperwork (e.g., invites and outcome letters).
  • Prepare monthly key HR metrics, including employee relations data.
  • Manage the monthly payroll validation process and ensure accurate tracking/logging of new starters, leavers, contract changes, and right‑to‑work checks.
  • Ensure employee data is entered into the relevant system in time for monthly payroll validation.
  • Partner with area managers to deliver comprehensive generalist HR support to key client groups.
  • Support HR projects across Europe in line with Tapestry's global HR vision.
  • Consistently align policies, practices and management with a culture based on focus, execution, values and authenticity.
  • Act as first‑line support to the management team on all HR queries, offering clear, well‑informed advice and escalating issues to the HR Director.
  • Complete exit interviews with corporate and retail management employees.
  • Track and monitor the probationary review process.
  • Support key annual processes, including the annual performance review.
  • Create and develop new policies and procedures in conjunction with the HR Director.
  • Oversee daily monitoring and tracking of employee lifecycle changes, including onboarding of new hires, contract modifications and resignation processes.
  • Coordinate with HR administrators when actioning employee lifecycle update requests, such as employment contract requests and right‑to‑work verifications.
  • Ensure regular auditing and compliance with personnel files and related HR documentation, maintaining accurate records in accordance with company policies and local market legal requirements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Employee Relations Specialist or HR Advisor, ideally within an international retail or hospitality environment based in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience delivering HR advisory support across multi‑country operations, particularly in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Austria.
  • Commercial mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive and hands‑on approach, able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with minimal administrative support.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience working within a US‑headquartered company is advantageous.
  • Broad HR experience across European markets is desirable.
  • Proficiency in German and familiarity with German employment law would be beneficial.
  • Soft‑skill competencies: courage, creativity, customer focus, dealing with ambiguity, drive for results, interpersonal savvy, learning on the fly.
