Job summary

Speedy Hire in Tamworth is seeking an experienced Powered Access Engineer to join our depot-based engineering team. You’ll be responsible for keeping our powered access fleet safe, reliable and ready for hire, working on equipment from Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie and JLG.

The role involves servicing, fault finding, refurbishments and inspections, with a strong emphasis on safety and accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience within powered access or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• A keen eye for detail and a strong approach to safety.
• Experience with Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie or JLG equipment would be an advantage.
• CAP registration would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing powered access equipment
• Refurbishing equipment ready to go back on hire
• Fault finding and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out inspections and safety checks
• Identifying and estimating repairs required
• Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings
• Ensuring equipment meets our safety and quality standards
• Keeping accurate service and maintenance records
