Smiths Detection is seeking a highly organised Talent Acquisition Coordinator to support a major transformation programme across a multinational recruitment function. This 12-month fixed-term contract involves coordinating requisitions, onboarding contractors and managing agency partners to ensure a smooth, efficient hiring process.

  • Previous experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment Coordination, Resourcing, HR Administration or a similar coordination-focused role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate data and documentation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining trackers, reports and administrative processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating activities involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Comfortable working with recruitment systems, HR platforms or ATS.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to chase actions and drive progress.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience within a complex, multinational or matrix organisation.
  • Previous experience using ATS and HR systems.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment agency activity.
  • Experience supporting contractor recruitment and onboarding.
  • Exposure to transformation, change or high-volume recruitment programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Raise and coordinate recruitment requisitions, ensuring information is complete, accurate and compliant with internal processes.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support across transformation recruitment activities.
  • Monitor recruitment progress and ensure actions are followed through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation throughout the hiring lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain central recruitment trackers to provide visibility of vacancies, requisition status, agency activity and onboarding progress.
  • Produce regular updates and reports on recruitment activity, outstanding actions, risks and dependencies.
  • Ensure recruitment data remains accurate, up to date and audit-ready.
  • Act as a key point of contact for recruitment agency partners supporting transformation hiring.
  • Coordinate agency engagement, communications and recruitment activities.
  • Support the onboarding of new recruitment suppliers, ensuring all required documentation and processes are completed efficiently.
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding activities, ensuring all necessary requirements are completed prior to start dates.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to remove delays and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers, HR teams, Talent Acquisition colleagues and external providers to ensure recruitment activity runs smoothly.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding actions and escape issues where required.
  • Support a consistent and professional hiring experience across multiple functions and locations.

Job Description

Smiths Detection is undergoing a significant transformation programme designed to strengthen our organisation, accelerate growth and position us for future success. As part of this journey, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Talent Acquisition Coordinator to support the delivery of recruitment activity across the Detection Transformation Plan.

This is a 12 month FTC but it has potential to become a permanent role in the future.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with recruitment, resourcing, talent acquisition or HR coordination experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys bringing structure, organisation and efficiency to complex hiring programmes.

You will act as a central point of coordination between Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers, HR teams and external recruitment partners, ensuring recruitment activity is managed effectively from requisition through to onboarding and closure.

What You'll Be Doing
Recruitment Coordination & Administration
  • Raise and coordinate recruitment requisitions, ensuring information is complete, accurate and compliant with internal processes.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support across transformation recruitment activities.
