Job description

As a Talent Executive, you’ll attract the top talent from candidate pools to ensure the positions are filled with the best possible candidates. You’ll source and attract new candidates by using databases, job boards, etc. You’ll liaise with the Nursery Managers to arrange nursery‑based interviews and work trials. You’ll get feedback from the Managers on the candidate’s performance and relay this information to the candidate. You’ll be required to assist with recruitment drives and attend internal and external events. You’ll develop and learn from the Head of Talent to ensure you are progressing in your skills and abilities for your future with Fennies. You’re the best at …

If you’re an inspirational recruiter with a passion for finding the best candidates to provide ‘the right start for under 5s’ for our children, then you belong at Fennies. We’ve been excelling in early years since 1992, and we’re opening new nurseries every year. We don’t acquire existing nurseries, so each of our settings is Fennies through and through, from our exceptional culture to our bespoke rooms. From day one, you’ll be supported by our tailored induction to give you an understanding of what makes Fennies the leading childcare provider that it is.

Working at Fennies is about loving what you do and having the passion to be the best at it!

Responsibilities

  • Assessing a candidate’s suitability for a role and verifying relevant reference and background checks.
  • Conducting interviews and giving feedback with confident communication skills.
  • Giving feedback from interviews and negotiating salaries, finalising arrangements between the Nursery Manager and the candidate, building relationships.
  • Maintaining complete records of hires and interviews and providing necessary data to the Head of Talent and the HR department.
  • Promoting Fennies’ reputation as ‘the best nursery group’ to support growth and competitive advantage.
  • Onboarding staff correctly in a paid induction to ensure confidence and support from day one.
  • Hiring friendly and supportive team members who want to succeed together to meet targets and hit KPIs.
  • Being a diverse workforce and an inclusive equal‑opportunities employer.
  • Communicating with teams to provide regular updates to realign targets and team goals.
  • Prioritising your well‑being by offering monthly events that help you progress outside of Fennies (e.g., cocktail mixing, mortgage advice, meditation classes).
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of best practice for safeguarding, health & safety, inclusion, diversity, confidentiality and relevant employment legislation.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks through organisation, time management, and strong decision‑making skills to meet deadlines and targets.
Benefits

  • Well‑being benefits, such as up to 38 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), cycle‑to‑work scheme, team incentives and events.
