Overview

Location: Wylands Farm, Battle, East Sussex

Employment Type: Full-Time, Multi-Role (Shop & Fishery Grounds)

We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to take on a multi-role as Tackle Shop Supervisor & Fishery Maintenance Team Member. This unique position combines retail management with hands-on fishery maintenance and customer service. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and contributing to a wide range of maintenance tasks across the lakes, grounds, and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily tackle shop operations, including stock control, ordering, sales, and customer service.
  • Support the Fishery Manager with grounds, woodland, and lake maintenance, including mowing, strimming, planting, and minor repairs.
  • Operate and maintain machinery such as tractors, mowers, and chainsaws safely.
  • Act as a bailiff when required, assisting anglers and ensuring fishery rules are followed.
  • Stay on-site at least two nights per week (accommodation provided) to ensure site security and support during overnight sessions.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in retail or fishery management, practical maintenance skills, and machinery operation.
  • Knowledge of fishery management, land maintenance, and health & safety practices.
  • Full UK driving licence; flexibility to work weekends and overnight shifts.
