Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Systems Performance Modelling Engineer for an initial 12-month contract in Stevenage or Bristol. The role focuses on modelling the seeker RF radar and integrating models into the missile dynamic reference model.

The successful candidate will model in Matlab/Simulink, develop auto-code, validate components against real-world data and deliver simulations for fast-paced projects onsite with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with Matlab/Simulink model-based design.
• Ability to validate models against data.
• Experience in auto-code generation.
• Aptitude for converting an algorithm into a Simulink model.
• Familiarity with Radar and Control Systems.
• Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing.
• RF experience.
• Experience in C (not essential).
• Technical report writing.

Responsibilities

• Model in Matlab and Simulink using model-based design techniques.
• Produce parts of a complex Seeker model including modelling the target scenario, seeker hardware and processor algorithms.
• Develop and implement algorithms within the model.
• Produce and verify auto-code for the software algorithms from the model.
• Carry out seeker performance assessment.
• Validate model components against real world data and write up results.
• Produce a simpler representation of the model for use in the missile model.
• Upgrade legacy Seeker models to newer MATLAB/Simulink versions.
• Documenting the model changes and creating test vectors.

Overview of department:

We are looking for a modeller to produce models of the seeker RF Radar. The model includes the seeker hardware, digital processing and target environment. The modelling team is responsible for developing the model, producing auto-code, generating seeker performance predictions and interfacing the seeker model into the missile dynamic reference model.

Responsibilities (to include):

• Modelling in Matlab and Simulink using model-based design techniques
• Producing parts of a complex Seeker model including modelling the target scenario, seeker hardware and processor algorithms
• Develop and implement algorithms within the model
• Producing and verifying auto-code for the software algorithms from the model
• Carrying out seeker performance assessment
• Validating model components against real world data and writing up results.
• Producing a simpler representation of the model for use in the missile model
• Upgrading legacy Seeker models to newer MATLAB/Simulink Vectors
• Documenting the model changes and creating test vectors

Due to the sensitive nature of the work it is predominantly done onsite but there is some flexibility depending on project.
