Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager for programmes within the Defence & Security sector on a permanent basis. You will lead engineering delivery across programmes, manage scheduling, resources and risk, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure programme success.

You will drive engineering excellence, maintain cost control, and support business reporting while ensuring compliance with security policies and requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering management or full lifecycle systems engineering.
• Proficiency in systems design and engineering principles.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to propose improvements to increase project margins.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Understanding of the defence and security sector.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering delivery of a programme or multiple projects.
• Support planning, scheduling and optimise schedule logic.
• Identify and manage resource needs and adapt to resource constraints.
• Deliver engineering artefacts to budget and schedule to improve margins.
• Articulate and manage technical risks.
• Forecast and monitor project costs to stay on budget.
• Coordinate engineering resources and day-to-day tasking.
• Provide input for business and customer reporting to stakeholders.
• Manage security of information per Security Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for engineering delivery of a programme or multiple projects
• Support the Programme Management team in planning, scheduling, and optimising schedule logic
• Identify and manage resource needs and adapt to manage resource problems
• Ensure engineering artefacts are delivered to budget and schedule, aiming to improve margin
• Articulate, quantify, and manage technical risks
• Monitor and forecast costs to ensure projects remain on budget
• Coordinate all engineering resources and perform day-to-day tasking
• Provide input for business and customer reporting, representing the company to stakeholders
• Manage security of information as defined in the Security Manual

Job Requirements:
