A leading aerospace and defense company is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on Radar Mode development within their team. This role involves significant engagement with stakeholders and opportunities for career development and wellbeing benefits. Candidates should have a background in Engineering, Physics, or Applied Maths, and experience in radar systems engineering is preferred. Flexible working options are available.
Job Description: The Captor-E Mk0 Radar is produced for the Eurofighter Typhoon and currently in operation with multiple export customers. The project is progressing at pace through continuous systems and software design upgrades, to enable the product to continue to meet the needs of end-users who operate in challenging environments.
There is a need for Systems Engineers to work on Radar Mode development within the Mk0 Systems Engineering Team. A core element of the role is the development of algorithms for the Signal Processor, and alongside this the successful applicant will also be expected to take on a broad involvement in all aspects of radar operation and processing, as well as to support analysis, design, integration, trials and verification activities within the Captor-E Mk0 team.
There will be the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including hardware and software teams, test teams, international partner organisations as well as customer stakeholders.
There is a large element in the role focused around using full mode model replay of trials data, to characterise performance and develop improvements. From this work, the engineer will provide design documentation updates and other support to allow implementation of changes in software.
On top of an Engineering/Physics/Applied Maths or equivalent background and ideally some Radar Systems Engineering experience, the successful candidate(s) will be expected to either have existing abilities in the following areas or show a clear drive and ability to develop them.
