Job summary

HSB Technical is seeking a Systems Engineer for MoD/Gov projects in Surrey. The role involves designing, configuring, verifying, and testing systems, liaising with project offices, and ensuring security compliance. Travel to customer sites and duties for MoD/Gov support are required.

The ideal candidate will hold DV clearance, possess a degree in a relevant field, and have strong communication skills along with a UK driving licence. A hybrid work model applies after six months of probation.

Qualifications

• Must hold, or be able to obtain, DV (Developed Vetting) Security Clearance.
• Minimum degree-level qualification in engineering/IT or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure systems for MoD/Gov projects per specifications.
• Liaise with project offices to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Test, verify, and evaluate new systems and software builds.
• Define equipment lists, specifications, and IP structures for new projects.
• Provide technical documentation and configuration details for each project.
• Conduct site visits to support installation, commissioning, and trials.
• Support customer meetings with technical expertise and solutions.
• Contribute to technical proposals and training for new systems.
• Be available for MoD/Gov engineer rota as required.
• Ensure all work adheres to security policies.

• Act as part of the Duty MoD/Gov engineer rota as required
• Ensure all work adheres to company and security policies

Qualifications and requirements for the Systems Engineer (MoD/Gov):

• Must hold, or have the ability to obtain, DV (Developed Vetting) Security Clearance
• Minimum degree-level qualification in an engineering, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Broad ICT and/or satellite communications experience desirable
• Cisco CCNA (or equivalent network qualification) preferred
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently
• Full UK driving licence
