Job summary

Expleo is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the End-to-End Space & Ground System project. Based at the client facilities in Portsmouth or Stevenage, you will lead system engineering activities, define CONOPS, manage user requirements, and contribute to the engineering management plan.

As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector we are looking for a Systems Engineer. The role will be based at our customer’s facilities in either Portsmouth or Stevenage with travel as required, between both sites.

The successful candidate will be engaged in system engineering and test management planning, working in collaboration with the client, across various Satellite based programmes and technologies, for the delivery of the End-to-End Space & Ground System Technical Coherency Monitoring & Direction programme.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable industry related experience / Degree qualified – Engineering or Science related subject

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with defence and aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-178C) is desirable.

• Ability to provide inputs to project Management.
• MS Office Suite.
• Problem Solving & Decision Making: Analytical mindset with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as MIL-STD, DO-178C, and DO-254, is desirable.

Experience

• Extensive experience in Systems Engineering roles.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, preferably within the defence or aerospace industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Experience with project management practices and tools, including schedule management, risk analysis, and resource allocation.
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) for system analysis and performance prediction.
