Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems engineering and integration in automotive environments.
• Strong ability to elicit, manage, verify and validate requirements.
• Experience developing system architectures and managing interfaces in complex engineering settings.
• Solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN Bus and network integration.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring architectures and design principles.
• Knowledge of commissioning, diagnostics, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies, including the V-Model lifecycle.
• Experience in automotive/EV/motorsport or related electro-mechanical industries.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyse and manage system requirements with traceability across the V-Model lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain vehicle system architectures, interfaces and functional boundaries.
• Support systems integration activities covering CAN communications and electrical architectures.
• Produce technical specifications, interface control documents and other engineering deliverables.
• Participate in commissioning, debugging, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve integration challenges.

Systems Engineer - 6 Month Contract - Warwick

VIQU have partnered with an engineering organisation seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of a next-generation electric vehicle platform.

Working across requirements engineering, vehicle electrical architecture and systems integration, the successful Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring complex electrical and electronic systems are successfully defined, integrated, commissioned and validated throughout the development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture, analyse and manage system requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the V-Model life cycle.
• Develop and maintain vehicle system architectures, interfaces and functional boundaries across complex electrical and electronic systems.
• Support systems integration activities covering CAN communications, electrical architectures, startup sequencing and subsystem interoperability.
• Produce technical specifications, interface control documentation and other engineering deliverables.
• Participate in commissioning, debugging, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis activities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve integration challenges and deliver robust vehicle solutions.

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Integration Engineer or Electrical Integration Engineer.
• Strong background in requirements elicitation, management, verification and validation.
• Experience developing system architectures and managing interfaces within complex engineering environments.
• Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN Bus communications and network integration.
• Experience working with electrical schematics, wiring architectures and electrical design principles.
• Knowledge of commissioning, diagnostics, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies, including the V-Model development life cycle.
• Experience within automotive, EV, motorsport, off-highway, commercial vehicle, rail, marine or similar electro-mechanical industries.
