Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a candidate for a technical leadership role in railway signalling systems. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing both remote and in-office work. Ideal candidates will have substantial knowledge in systems engineering and proven experience in safety-critical environments, including understanding of relevant standards. Job description

  • Providing technical leadership for allocated tasks.
  • Customer requirements elicitation, capture and analysis.
  • System requirements elicitation and specification.
  • System design analysis and specification.
  • Product requirements specification.
  • Interface definition and control.
  • Product design analysis and specification.
  • Experience of providing technical leadership in demanding safety critical environments.
  • Expert knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle, cost awareness and processes involved in other engineering disciplines.
  • Substantial systems engineering knowledge of railway signalling systems, including writing requirements for railway products/systems.
  • Railway signalling principles knowledge
  • Proven experience of requirement management tools, such as DOORS and Polarion.
  • Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, dependable and self-reliant.
  • Proven experience of working to CENELEC standards.
  • Experience in mentoring engineers working in a safety critical development environment.
  • Experience of Siemens railway systems products
  • Experience of Object-Oriented modelling notations and techniques, such as UML, SySML and MBSE.
  • Experience of Agile and SCRUM working practices.
