QinetiQ in Amesbury (Boscombe Down) seeks a Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering support across aerospace programmes and air platforms, including UAS. You will be part of a Systems/Project Engineering team, leading small projects and ensuring delivery to schedule, cost and quality.

The role requires an aerospace background, knowledge of the air vehicle life cycle and aircraft certification. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites is expected; eligibility for SC clearance is

Responsabilidades

• Deliver integrated technical activities to contracted time, cost and quality
• Coordinate integration of engineering outputs to meet project objectives
• Ensure consistency of technical processes, methods and tools per QinetiQ BMS
• Assist with bids/estimates, Technical Delivery Plans and WBS to support cost plans
• Identify project technical risks and support Project Manager in risk management
• Capture and analyse customer requirements

The Role

As a Systems Engineer, you'll provide systems engineering support to QinetiQ aerospace projects and programmes covering a wide range of air platforms including UAS. The role will involve a range of aerospace technologies and domains from avionic systems through flight performance to design modifications. The role holder will be required to technically lead small projects ensuring application of correct processes, methods and tools.

Day-to-day, you'll work as a member of a Systems/Project Engineering team, assisting with the leadership and management of engineering and technical teams to deliver aerospace domain engineering outputs that meet the customer's requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring delivery of integrated technical activities to contracted time, cost and quality
• Ensuring a consistent approach to the integration of engineering outputs to meet the overall project objectives
• Ensuring consistency of technical processes, methods and tools in accordance with the QinetiQ BMS to meet customer requirements
• Assisting with the coordination of bids and estimates, generation of Technical Delivery Plans and work breakdown structures to support project cost plans and bids
• Assisting with the identification of project technical risks and assisting the Project Manager with the management of them
• Effective capture and analysis of customer requirements

Essential experience of the Systems Engineer:

• Working knowledge of general Systems Engineering principles
• Aerospace or related engineering background
• Technical experience throughout the air vehicle life cycle
• Knowledge of aircraft certification and systems design
• Ability to make sound judgements on technical solutions
• Excellent people management and communication skills

Essential qualifications for the Systems Engineer:

• Recognised aerospace related learning to at least HNC standard or equivalent
• Engineering degree (desirable)

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Amesbury (Boscombe Down) site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.

Boscombe Down

MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK's aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
