Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for public service and financial accuracy? We’re looking for a Systems and Control Officer to play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing the IT systems that underpin our Local Taxationand Benefits shared service.

This is a dynamic and varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be at the heart of system administration, financial reconciliation, secure data handling, and project innovation—helping ensure our services run smoothly and securely across two councils.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Administering and optimising core systems (Northgate, Civica, BACS)
  • Leading on system testing, upgrades, and fault resolution
  • Managing secure data transfers with the DWP and other partners
  • Performing complex financial reconciliations and government returns
  • Supporting annual billing and year-end processes
  • Acting as a key contact for IT, finance, and external suppliers
  • Contributing to strategic IT development and smarter working practices
What We’re Looking For:
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills
  • Strong understanding of Council Tax, Housing Benefit, or Business Rates legislation
  • High-level problem-solving and analytical skills

Location: Agile working across North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire
Hours: 32 hours per week (Mon–Thurs: 7 hours per day, Fri: 4 hours AM)
Team: Central Team – Systems and Control
