Job summary

Butler Rose is seeking an Interim Systems Accountant to join a manufacturing business in Devon on a hybrid basis. You will lead the Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation, partner with finance and operations to map requirements, and ensure robust controls and reporting align with business needs.

The role requires a fully qualified accountant with ERP experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a track record of successful ERP projects and system testing.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, Finance Transformation or Project Accountant.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Proven ERP implementation, upgrade or optimisation project experience.
• Experience of systems testing, process mapping and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication across finance, operations and senior leadership.
• Manufacturing sector experience preferred.

• Support the implementation and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Work alongside finance and operational stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected within the system
• Engage in system testing, including UAT and process validation
• Identify and resolve issues throughout the implementation process
• Provide support and training to end users where required
• Act as a key finance systems contact during the go-live phase
• Drive post-implementation optimisation, identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls and business processes
• Support wider finance transformation and continuous improvement projects across the business

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, Finance Transformation or Project Accountant role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Proven track record of supporting ERP implementations, upgrades or optimisation projects
• Experience of systems testing, process mapping and stakeholder engagement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations and senior leadership teams
• Manufacturing sector experience would be preferred
