Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systemic Family Psychotherapist to join Dorset Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMH) within the Getting More Help quadrant of our Thrive model, supporting children, young people and families across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole locality.

CYPMH Dorset is entering an exciting period of growth, with new investments enabling us to enhance our services in line with Thrive principles. This role will evolve as we develop, beginning with supporting existing teams from a temporary base during the transition. This is a fantastic opportunity to build skills, influence new initiatives, and grow professionally.

We are looking for adaptable, positive individuals who are eager to help shape our future and thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Please note visa sponsorship for this role is unfortunately not available. Ensure you hold valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful.

As a Systemic Family Psychotherapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist assessments and evidence-based systemic interventions for children, young people and families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. You will manage a complex caseload, formulate and deliver systemic treatment plans, undertake risk assessment and safety planning, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for children and families.

The successful candidate will also provide systemic consultation, supervision and reflective practice to colleagues, contribute to service development, and support the continued delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the service.

You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Family/Systemic Psychotherapy accredited by AFSP and be registered with UKCP or an equivalent professional body. You will have significant post-qualification experience working with children, young people and families within CAMHS or community mental health settings, including managing complex presentations and providing systemic assessments and interventions.

Experience of offering supervision, consultation, training and working collaboratively across agencies would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative service at a time of exciting transformation and play a key role in shaping the future of mental health support for children, young people and families across Dorset.

At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.

We do things differently here – it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.
