Job description

Systemic Family Practitioner - Fixed Term for 12 months
About us

Warrington is an exciting place to work with an office building in the heart of Warrington town centre with great workspace with hubs and pods which provide a comfortable environment to work. There are local cafes and restaurants all on the doorstep of the office.

We are within easy commutable distance of Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside regions and are proud to be an Ofsted Graded 'Good' Local Authority, Children's Services in 2024.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a full time Systemic Family Practitioner to start immediately or as soon as possible on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The intention of the Systemic Hub is to support families to remain together by understanding the family relationships, strengths and areas for change. We do this by offering ideas and interventions from a systemic practice lens to support helpful change. The Systemic Hub supports the embedding of our Systemic Practice model, with a dedicated Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) being linked to each of the social work teams and other parts of the service, with plans to widen this further throughout the directorate.

As a Systemic Family Practitioner, you will be required to share ideas with workers and partner agencies, offering a systemic lens when talking through dilemmas, with an overall aim of continuing to embed the systemic practice model when it comes to how we think about, talk about and understand families. Some of the ways we do this are:

  • One to one reflective conversations with those who are working directly with the family.
  • Group or multi-agency reflective spaces – coming together outside of care planning to take some time to think about how we are understanding the family system.
  • Joining visits to families where appropriate, modelling approaches and offering a systemic lens.
  • Completing Systemic Family practice sessions with families.
  • Deliver training in Systemic practice
What's needed?

The role is open to those with experience of working with and/or in Children’s Services and social care settings and are qualified at Intermediate level in Systemic Family Practice.

As well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:

  • 26 days annual holiday - raising to 31 after 5 years of service (pro-rata)
  • Access to our attractive and competitive benefits package
  • Access to our Health & Wellbeing Programme
  • Essential car allowance
