Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join a fast-paced digital delivery team. This role involves both functional and non-functional testing with a focus on Agile methodologies. Job description

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Test Engineer to join a fast-paced digital delivery team working on a high-impact, public-facing application along with associated internal systems and databases.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in Agile environments and enjoys working across both functional and non-functional testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute a variety of testing approaches across the full test lifecycle
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate Oracle databases
• Identify, prioritise, and communicate defects clearly to both technical and non-technical teams
• Create and maintain robust test documentation, continuously improving test processes
• Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile delivery team to ensure high-quality releases

Tech & Tools You'll Work With

• Test automation: Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS
• Cross-browser testing: BrowserStack
• Test & source management: Azure DevOps (Boards, Test Plans, Pipelines), Git
• Databases: Oracle (including triggers, stored procedures, APEX validation)
• Performance testing: JMeter
• Platform testing: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Dynamics 365
• Front-end testing: Angular applications

What We're Looking For

• Solid experience in manual and automated testing
• Strong SQL skills and Oracle DB knowledge
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments (Azure)
• Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
• Background in performance and front-end testing is a plus

This is an inside IR35role and requires Basic Disclosure Clearance.
