University of Portsmouth is seeking an IT infrastructure support professional to join the Infrastructure Services team. The role focuses on day-to-day support of university systems, using standard tools, and participation in project work across Technology Delivery.
The position offers hybrid working with some time in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will contribute to cross-team initiatives and help maintain critical services across servers, storage, identity management, and cloud platforms.
The Infrastructure Services team plays a key role in provision of services throughout the University. The team is responsible for all servers, storage, identity management, virtualisation, platforms, databases and Google & M365 services.
The role holder will participate in the day-to-day support of the University systems using standard tools. The role holder will also participate in project work and to work in cross-team activities within Technology Delivery.
Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.

Salary Information:
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
