Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Bath is seeking a SysOps Engineer to enhance infrastructure performance and security. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience managing AWS workloads and strong Linux systems administration skills. Qualifications

  • Strong Linux systems administration background.

  • Experience in incident response and disaster recovery.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

YT Technologies are on the lookout for a SysOps Engineer to join one of our clients in Bath. In this role, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving infrastructure performance, security, and availability across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilties;
  • Manage and monitor production, staging, and development environments to ensure stability and uptime
  • Maintain and improve network, server, and storage infrastructure (AWS VPC, EC2, etc.)
  • Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Support continuous improvement through upgrades, cloud-native services, and process optimisation
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable systems
Criteria;
  • 2+ years' hands‑on experience managing AWS production workloads at scale
  • Strong Linux systems administration background
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible (or similar tools)
  • Knowledge of scripting (Bash/Python), CI/CD, and version control (Git)
  • Experience in incident response and disaster recovery
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have
  • AWS Associate certification (or interest in achieving it)
  • Exposure to containerised environments or Azure workloads
