Job summary

Inspired Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Switchgear Installer to join our busy engineering team. This site-based role requires nationwide travel across the UK to install, fit and support switchgear and related equipment.

You will read technical drawings, lead commissioning activities, oversee preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis, and progress to supervisory responsibilities with training and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working on switchgear, fitting and wiring.
• Ability to install and commission switchgear.
• Willing to travel nationwide and stay away.
• Good communication skills and driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install switchgear and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Lead commissioning activities, including routine and type tests.
• Lead preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis/repairs.
• Travel and work away as required.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Switchgear Installer to join busy engineering team.

This role is site-based, and you would be expected to travel nationwide, work as a part of expert team, focus on installation/fitting and supporting various projects across the UK.

Duties:

• Installation to carry physical installation of switchgear and associated equipment.
• To understand of electrical transmission and distribution systems.
• Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Testing to lead commissioning activities, including mandatory routine and type tests.
• Maintenance - to lead preventative maintenance schedules and complex fault diagnosis/repairs.

Skills:

• Experience working on switchgear/fitting/wiring.
• Expertise in installing and commissioning switchgear.
• Happy to work away (field - based role).
• Good communication skills
• Full UK driving Licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering/Wiring or equivalent
• Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent
