Job summary

The Corporation of Oundle School is seeking enthusiastic swim instructors to join the Sport Centre team. You will prepare equipment, ensure safety, welcome participants and deliver effective sessions during Swim School hours.

Flexibility to work weekday evenings and weekend mornings around term time; the role offers £14.58 per hour and opportunities to progress toward SEQ Level 1 qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering swimming sessions to adults and children of varying abilities.
• Ability to motivate participants and manage groups during sessions.
• Willingness to work toward SEQ Level 1 qualification if not already achieved.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and ensure safety provisions before assisting with lessons.
• Welcome all participants in a friendly manner and support learning.
• Deliver engaging, effective swimming sessions tailored to participants' abilities.
• Assist with lessons during Swim School hours and maintain a positive centre experience.

Job description

Our dedicated team of instructors deliver an engaging swim programme that encourages adults and children of all abilities. The successful individuals will be responsible for preparing equipment and ensuring safety provisions prior to assisting with lessons, welcoming all participants in a friendly manner, and delivering effective sessions. All staff at the Sport Centre provide visitors with a friendly and positive experience.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to instruct participants of varying abilities and demonstrate the ability to motivate clients. If not already successfully achieved, candidates should have a desire to work towards a SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. Our State of the Art Sports Centre offers a wide range of classes, fitness facilities and activities on a commercial basis, as well as numerous courses, children’s holiday clubs and organised parties. Our facilities include a 50-metre swimming pool, an 8-court hall, a 70-station fitness suite, a dedicated dance studio and three further multipurpose studios.

Hours of work: This role is flexible to meet the needs of the business. Normal working hours in a week are variable and available during Swim School opening hours which are currently weekday (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) evenings and weekend mornings based around School Term Time.
