Job summary

A leading UK training provider is seeking a Freelance Assessor/Development Coach based in Scotland. In this role, you will support approximately 20 learners in completing their SVQ Level 3 in Social Services while providing exceptional guidance. Responsibilities include delivering teaching sessions, assessing work and providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Candidates must possess a relevant Assessor Qualification and experience in the delivery of SVQs and HNCs. A driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assessing learners for SVQ and HNC qualifications.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and use E-Portfolio systems.
  • Experience in safeguarding, preventing radicalisation and promoting equality.

Responsibilities

  • Support approximately 20 learners to complete their qualifications.
  • Provide clear milestones and targets for learner progress.
  • Deliver virtual interactive teaching sessions as required.
  • Ensure all records meet SSSC and SQA requirements.

Skills

Knowledge & experience in the delivery of SVQs & HNC
Strong organisational skills
Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
Relevant Sector experience performing at L4 or above
Full driving licence and use of a car
Knowledge of SQA relevant requirements and SSSC

Education

Assessor Qualification (D32/D33, A1 or CAVA)
PTLLS/AET or equivalent teaching qualification
HNC/University qualification
Minimum Level 3 SVQ in relevant sector (SCQF Level 7)
Desirable - Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
Job description

Impact Futures Group and The Childcare Company have a fantastic freelance assessor opportunity based in Scotland.

The Role

As a Freelance Assessor/Development Coach you will be responsible for supporting approximately 20 learners to complete their SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or SQA HNC – Social Services qualification within the agreed timeframe, whilst providing exceptional support to both learners and employers. You will provide learners clear milestones and targets to support with their completion and provide teaching sessions (Virtual interactive sessions) where required. A Face-to-Face observation of practice will also be required for the delivery of the HNC qualification. You will support any additional learning needs, they may have, and also ensure all required records are completed to meet SSSC and SQA Requirements.

  • Lead learners to support them to achieve their qualification covering all areas of knowledge, skills, and behaviours as well as any additional requirements
  • Regularly assess work and provide constructive feedback including SPAG and update the E- Portfolio system (Aptem)
  • Deliver teaching and learning inline with the delivery model for each qualification
  • Taking responsibility to ensure safeguarding, PREVENT, British Values, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted and monitored continually in all areas of the job role
About You
  • Knowledge & experience in the delivery of SVQs & HNC
  • Occupational competency and relevant qualifications in the SVQ/HNC in which you will be delivering
  • Strong organisational skills and be able to effectively time manage and prioritise tasks
  • Have a full driving licence and use of a car with business use insurance
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and GDPR
  • Knowledge of SQA relevant requirements and SSSC
  • Assessor Qualification e.g., D32/D33, A1 or CAVA
  • Relevant Sector experience performing at L4 or above
  • PTLLS/AET or equivalent teaching qualification
  • HNC/University qualification
  • Must hold a minimum Level 3 SVQ in relevant sector (SCQF Level 7)
