About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for Sustainability Manager is to lead our company decarbonisation strategy and advance the sustainability and resource efficiency of our operations.

It's an exciting time to join our governance team and have an impact on the environmental performance of our business. Working alongside a range of engineers, consultants and administrators, you will be joining a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who love what they do, and offer a supportive, flexible, and high performing work culture.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

  • Manage our Carbon Reduction Plan and Science Based Targets, and lead on our annual carbon reporting.
  • Identify and lead on office energy efficiency measures and carbon reduction action plans.
  • Support the development of our Corporate Responsibility Strategy and annual reporting
  • Work with office Environmental Management Champions to maintain our office Environmental Management System requirements and chair environmental management meetings.
  • Coordinate the environmental aspects of our Integrated Management System (IMS) audits to demonstrate ISO14001 compliance and good practice, working alongside our Health and Safety Manager.
  • Maintain and develop our Sustainable Procurement Principles and manage the application of these at our offices.
  • Review the sustainability credentials of our key suppliers.

In addition, there is an opportunity to work on sustainability consultancy projects with clients. Knowledge of environmental assessments (including BREEAM and EPCs) and sustainability strategies for planning would be an advantage.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Proven experience of preparing sustainability and decarbonisation strategies for buildings
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with with building owners and contractors.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of collaboration
  • Experience of supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
  • Sustainability consultancy experience in planning and environmental assessments would be an advantage
