Sustainability Manager | Leeds

Are you interested in working for a global leader in the construction industry, who are truly committed to Sustainability and have aims to spearhead positive change?

Are you interested in joining an ambitious team to work from design through construction across a framework of projects, embedding sustainability at every stage?

If the answer to the above is yes, then you may be interested in the Sustainability Manager role I am currently working on. The role is operating with a major global Principal Contractor who turnover in excess of £2bn and will be focused on projects within a major multi billion pound programme.

Key responsibilities of the Sustainability Manager will include:

  • Assist with the delivery of sustainability strategies across projects, with a focus on carbon reduction, circularity, and alignment with client and company targets.
  • Collaborate with project teams and supply chains from early design through delivery to embed sustainable practices and ensure compliance with ISO-14001 and environmental standards.
  • Engage with clients and internal stakeholders through training, working groups, and regular reporting to drive innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability performance.
  • Manage sustainability data and reporting, ensuring quality assurance, identifying actionable insights, and producing case studies to showcase best practices.

The successful Sustainability Manager requires:

  • Demonstrable environmental and sustainability experience ideally within Construction, Civil Engineering, or related
  • Working knowledge of whole life carbon assessments, PAS 2080 and life cycle assessments.
  • Qualified in an appropriate environmental discipline and ideally hold a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas throughout the organisation.
