Our client, who is a leading M&E company within the industry are currently searching for an experienced Sustainability Manager who can go in and implement strategies to help better the organisations environmental impact whilst assessing current operations. In this role you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the safety waste management, environmental, sustainability and social impact element of their service offering. You will ensure that the company works towards finding new, innovative and economically reductive ways to stay environmentally friendly and compliant with legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and legislation
  • Conducting audits and assessments including regular environmental audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation in areas like energy efficiency
  • Asses the sustainability practices of suppliers and ensure transparency throughout the supply chain
  • Evaluating suppliers, monitoring supply chain and promoting fair trade practices
  • Oversee sustainability assessments (BREEAM, CFSH, WELL, HQM, Passivhaus, etc)
  • Analyse project KPIs and carry out internal reporting
  • Manage sustainability consults assist the sustainability lead in maintaining climate and environment management systems
  • Support the sustainability lead in advancing the sustainability agenda and improving business performance through campaigns, communications and training.
  • Supervise a junior professional to enhance sustainable business value
  • Measure the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from operations and supply chain
  • Evaluate energy consumption and deficiency across all businesses
  • Working with projects from early involvement through to delivery, to identify and embed carbon and circularity savings
  • Providing guidance and support on site on community aspects of CCS to improve scores
  • Record meeting minutes, site visit reports and correspondence with the project team to demonstrate progress against sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, WELL, NABERS targets.)
  • Conduct regular site inspections, recognise best practices and promptly address any concerns ensuring the project stays on track
  • Create, refine and maintain the environmental management plan making it an integral part of the project's success rather than just a formal document
  • Supporting Project Managers and Framework Managers to maintain strong relationships with particular clients, local authorities and frameworks and representing the business within those forums
  • Address or support ongoing requests for collecting and providing various utility data and information within the regions for initiatives including surveys and the Carbon Net Zero ambition.
  • Identify programs available through utility companies and government agencies for rebates and other benefits to reduce operating and capital costs
