Job summary

Stepnell is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract starting in early December 2026. The role focuses on ISO 14001/50001 systems, energy management, and supporting the group’s sustainability strategy across projects in the built environment.

You will lead audits, SECR reporting, and carbon data collection (Scopes 1-3), drive waste reduction and circular economy initiatives, and provide expert input for bids and tenders.

Qualifications

• Experience in sustainability strategy, environmental compliance and carbon accounting within construction or built environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management or related discipline; professional membership (ISEP) preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 systems and related software such as SmartWaste.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ISO 14001/50001 systems and maintain BMS documentation.
• Lead corporate audits, certifications and verifications for ISO standards.
• Coordinate SECR reporting and update the CRP to support public sector frameworks.
• Collect and report carbon data across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 with regional champions.
• Support bids and pre-construction proposals with sustainability input.
• Drive waste reduction and circular economy initiatives across projects.
