Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is partnering with a premier sustainability consultancy in London to recruit an ESG & Sustainability Consultant for the real estate lead role.

You will drive environmental performance across existing property portfolios, engaging with investors, landlords and asset managers in a hybrid London setting. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in environmental consultancy or real estate ESG, with a Graduate Scheme background and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Qualification as a BREEAM In-Use Assessor (essential).
• Experience with GRESB reporting and sustainability benchmarking in commercial property.
• 2–4 years' post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy or real estate ESG services.
• Completed Graduate Scheme at a major consultancy with 2+ years direct industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct BREEAM In-Use assessments across commercial property portfolios from gap analysis to certification.
• Support clients with GRESB reporting, data collection, portfolio benchmarking and ESG strategy implementation.
• Deliver sustainability reporting, carbon footprinting and net-zero alignment strategies for institutional real estate clients.
• Act as primary client contact, translating complex sustainability data into clear commercial recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to expand energy efficiency and climate resilience offerings.

We are partnering with a premier sustainability consultancy to recruit an ambitious ESG & Sustainability Consultant to join their growing London team. This is a high-visibility role working with major real estate investors, landlords, and asset managers to drive environmental performance across existing property portfolios.

This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious consultant who has built a strong foundation within a major corporate consultancy and is ready to take ownership of key ESG frameworks and building performance assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct BREEAM In-Use assessments across a wide range of commercial property portfolios, managing the process from initial gap analysis to final certification.
• Support clients with GRESB reporting, data collection, portfolio benchmarking, and broader ESG strategy implementation.
• Deliver actionable sustainability reporting, carbon footprinting, and net-zero alignment strategies for institutional real estate clients.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, translating complex sustainability and environmental data into clear, commercial recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams to expand service offerings across energy efficiency and climate resilience.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Certification: Qualified BREEAM In-Use Assessor (Essential).
• ESG Frameworks: Proven hands-on experience with GRESB reporting and sustainability benchmarking in the commercial property sector (Essential).
• Experience: 2-4 years' post-graduate experience within environmental consultancy or real estate ESG services.
• Background: Completion of a formal Graduate Scheme at a major consultancy (Big 4, major engineering firm, or multi-disciplinary environmental firm) followed by 2+ years of direct industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Commercial Mindset: Strong client-facing skills, excellent written communication, and high confidence in analysing complex property data.
