Job description
What you will be doing
  • Develop, maintain and apply industry leading expertise in sustainability as it applies to Ricoh products, processes, sustainability priorities and geographies
  • Be a liaison for RCL on environmental product compliance matters (EU and national Member States legislations, EAEU, Oman, GCC) to give critical input to Ricoh product planning and strategy, product design, energy efficiency, chemicals composition etc in the most beneficial (costs, timelines etc) way for the group
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of, and lobbying role towards industry standards, regulations, legislation pieces affecting Ricoh products by representing Ricoh’s vision and opinion in external (senior level) stakeholder forums (Digital Europe, JBCE) in alignment with RCL
  • Actively engages with analysts, certification organizations and other platforms in matters related to sustainability in Ricoh’s products
  • Interacts with peer companies (externally) and internal Ricoh structures (e.g. Ricoh cross-function 3R parts & supplies) to develop and execute sector level transformation actions
  • Translate the global sustainability strategies incl. the UN Sustainable Development Goals into EMEA goals / activities to fit the needs of EMEA OpCo’s, Business and / or Supply Chain
  • Drive the development and embedding of sustainability (ie product eco labels (BAM, EPEAT and others like VPAT) into the broader business approach to increase the impact of product eco labels (BAM, EPEAT) and in tender business and other customer interactions
  • Responsible for driving sustainability product management by surveying sustainability trends, developing new sustainability offerings based on the needs of key buyer persona’s while maintaining and enhancing existing Ricoh’s sustainability portfolio (Sustainability Optimisation programme, EcoMode ratio)
  • Operationalize the sustainability strategies into action plans and lead the execution to achieve the renewal of ISO for REN
  • Accountable for the development of systems and processes (incl. digital) as it relates to sustainability of the product-related environmental information for internal users and external stakeholders
  • Supports the 3rd party product management by working with Vendor / Product managers to ensure the environmental compliance of onboarded products. Initiates improvement actions (e.g. First Importer role)
  • Serve as an internal expert for sustainability matters related to applicable sustainability objectives and geographies for RCL and EMEA OpCo’s
  • Interacts with customers directly and / or indirectly through (Global) Account Managers to ascertain customers’ sustainability related needs and work with commercial teams in developing and delivering solutions to those needs. Ultimately to drive business growth
  • Inform, educate and train sales and other customer facing roles so they can represent Ricoh to external audiences and be partners in achieving the sustainability impacts. Plus, educate and train PMs / VMs on the environmental product compliance (3rd party products) and cooperate in the environmental product compliance conversation with vendors
  • Engages with and / or creates content customer facing team members on sustainability topics to emphasize the sustainability of Ricoh products and enhance Ricoh’s sustainability reputation. Ultimately coordination with other Regions on global assets.
You will ideally have
  • Ideally successful candidates will be educated to at least bachelor’s degree level or equivalent professional qualification with studies in an environmental sciences discipline or business administration preferred.
  • Successful candidates will have a proven background of in-depth experience in sustainability related accountabilities and environmental management. Alongside, proven experience in ascertaining customer needs and developing solutions
  • Ideally candidates will hold a strong belief in environmental, economic and social benefits of sustainable development
  • Preferably candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and confidence in public speaking. Whilst also be a strong influencer on others with a highly organised approach.
  • Ideally candidates will be resilient, undeterred by ambiguity or differing views and be able to demonstrate skills as a self-starter with exhibiting learning capacity.
  • Successful candidates will actively use data to help make decisions and to assess potential impact on achieving success.
  • Ideally you will be able to seek customer and market information to identify underlying customer needs, whilst also developing and initiating actions to respond to these.
  • Preferably candidates will actively contribute and encourage the contributions of others whilst also valuing and uses individual differences to achieve team and business objectives.
