Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Officer to join the SHEQ team in Stockport. You will own the organisation’s environmental management, carbon reduction and sustainability programmes, aligning with Net Zero ambitions.

You will lead and continually improve the environmental strategy, ensure compliance, and support tender activity while collaborating with operations, leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability or related field.
• Full membership of IEMA or CIWEM.
• Proven experience with ISO 14001 and environmental management systems.
• Strong knowledge of carbon accounting and Scope 3 emissions.
• Experience performing environmental audits and reporting KPIs.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation and tender support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continually improve the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Conduct environmental audits, compliance activities and investigations.
• Develop carbon reduction initiatives to support Net Zero targets for 2030/2050.
• Manage Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions and carbon footprint reporting.
• Lead Scope 3 supply chain mapping and supplier engagement.
• Produce sustainability reports and KPI data for stakeholders.
• Support climate risk, resilience and adaptation initiatives.
• Assist with tenders and Carbon Reduction Plans (PRP 06/21).
• Develop environmental policies, procedures and training for staff.
• Collaborate with operations, leadership, customers and suppliers.
