A prominent utility company in the UK is seeking a Surveyor/Auditor to conduct site audits on completed works. The successful candidate will focus on compliance with policies, safety, and accuracy in reporting. The Surveyor/Auditor will report to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager and will work within Network Operations based from our Downham Market office. You will be a permanent employee of the UK Power Networks team.
You will attract a salary of £46,164 per annum - dependant on experience and a bonus of 3%.

We Also Provide The Following Additional BenefitsYour role will involve the undertaking of site-based audits on completed works by UK Power Networks staff and Contractors. Ensuring that UK Power Networks policy, processes and build specifications are followed. The audit includes verifying data accuracy including the completed as laid/as built drawing, asset registration forms and associated site construction information.
Another main area of focus will be the surveying of ESQCR defects, these are known defects that pose some element of public safety risk and must be assessed and reported upon. The survey will involve driving to and looking at notifications, making notes and taking pictures. Taking measurements and issuing of letters or the posting or raising of signs and warning labels.
We are looking for practical experience of the electrical distribution network and associated business processes. However, more importantly we are looking for safety focus, and commercial awareness.
Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations. This includes briefing individuals working for them and ensuring there is the necessary understanding, competence and application of requirements to work safely and without harming the environment.
Employees will ensure they understand the health and safety risks involved in their work activities and their responsibility to apply the controls needed to manage those risks to acceptable levels. Similarly where work activities can have an adverse impact upon the environment, and where there are legal requirements, employees will understand those impacts and the controls they must ensure are applied.
Employees need to be aware that for some craft and operational roles that work at height, or use fall arrest devices, there is an upper weight limit of 116Kg due to maximum safe working load of the safety equipment that is used.
