The Surveillance Tuning and Calibration Senior Manager will form part of the Change and Digital Enablement team working closely with the Surveillance team. This is an integral role that will support the optimisation of the Bank’s trade and communications surveillance models. The successful candidate will strive to ensure that surveillance scenarios, detection models and alerting thresholds are actively calibrated to maximise risk detection in an evolving risk landscape. In this role you will:
  • Take a proactive approach to support the tuning and calibration function for trade and communications surveillance, ensuring models are optimised for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular testing, validation and effectiveness reviews of surveillance models to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
  • Have a keen eye for detail assessing and refining detection thresholds and model parameters to ensure robust risk detection in an evolving risk environment.
  • Ensure model risk governance frameworks are adhered to ensuring compliance with internal policies on model management and validation.
  • Be proficient in defining and utilizing metrics and MI to assess surveillance effectiveness and drive continuous improvements.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Experience in trade and/or communications surveillance with additional expertise in compliance analytics, or model risk management.
  • Proven experience dealing with change processes in relation to Surveillance and analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data‑driven decision‑making, including experience with statistical modelling, threshold optimisation, and testing methodologies.
  • An understanding of surveillance technologies and tooling, including rule‑based detection models and alert generation processes.
  • Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
