Responsibilities

• Undertake designated roles within the surgery team for LVC and IOL theatres.
• Conduct pre-operative testing and assist during the consent process.
• Instruct patients on post-procedure eye care and manage follow-up appointments.
• Prepare and calibrate lasers; understand and safely manage data.
• Control patient flow on surgery days to ensure minimum waiting times.
• Assist surgeons during treatments and take notes as required.
• Perform the role of HCA in IOL theatre, assisting the surgical team.
• Update patient files, compile reports, and maintain department cleanliness.
• Report any incidents related to patient safety issues.
