Job summary

Major Recruitment Oldbury is seeking an experienced Surface Grinder for a professional engineering organisation in the Darlaston area. You will operate Jones & Shipman X &1400X series surface grinders to meet production deadlines.

The role requires reading engineering drawings and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. Overtime may be required to maintain production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience on Jones & Shipman Format5 CNC surface grinders would be an advantage.
• Capable of reading engineering drawings.
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Surface Grinder for a professional engineering organisation in the Darlaston area.

Responsibilities

• Work within a high‑pressure machining environment.
• Meet deadlines and use initiative to overcome problems.
• Resolve production issues.
• Operate Jones & Shipman X &1400X series surface grinders.
• Under certain circumstances, work overtime and extra hours to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• Experience on Jones & Shipman Format5 CNC surface grinders would be an advantage.
• Capable of reading engineering drawings.
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 6am to 6pm.
