A local educational authority in Coventry is seeking an enthusiastic STLS tutor to deliver Supported Teaching and Learning Specialist sessions. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in adult learning environments and relevant qualifications at Level 4/5. This role involves planning and delivering classes both on-site and online, with a focus on supporting Coventry residents in their educational journey. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Work Skills Team. You will plan and deliver Supported Teaching and Learning Specialist sessions to learners aspiring to be teaching assistants and Early Years classes to adult learners at various locations within the city and online. Within this role you will support the wider Work Skills Team supporting Coventry residents on their work journey. You will be joining a team of highly experienced tutors who are very supportive of each other. There are opportunities for staff development and continuing professional development and we aspire to be outstanding in the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
We are seeking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic STLS tutor to plan and deliver classes up to & including Level 5, whilst also delivering topics to support the wider work skills area. This will be in face-to-face classes or online. You will need relevant teaching experience in an adult learning environment, school or college, up to date knowledge of the subject and teaching and subject qualifications at level 4/5. Experience of apprenticeship delivery would be beneficial.
The Adult Education Service is part of Coventry City Council. We provide a wide range of courses for Coventry residents age 19+ and much of our provision is targeted at people with the highest levels of need. We offer long courses in English, maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), ICT/Digital and vocational subjects such as Early Years, along with provision for adults with learning disabilities. We also offer a very wide range of short community courses in arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, fitness and family learning. We also provide courses for adults who are seeking work via the Council's Job Shop. Our main base is at Southfields Old School, CV1 5EJ, with provision delivered at around 25 other sites within Coventry, mostly in areas of highest need.
