Supported Housing Operations Manager

Location: Work from home (with visits across SW England)

Hours: Full-Time Mon-Fri

Salary: £48,000 per annum + £4385 car allowance

Contract: Permanent

Overview

Are you an experienced leader passionate about delivering high-quality supported housing services that change lives? We are seeking a dynamic Supported Housing Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of services supporting young people, adults with support needs, and individuals with mental health challenges.

Work Location

This role is home based but regular travel will be required across sites based in Swindon, Exeter, Bournemouth, Oxford, and Gloucester. The post holder will be able to manage their own diary but would be expected to visit each location approximately once every 4-6 weeks.

About the Role

As Supported Housing Operations Manager, you will provide operational leadership and strategic direction to service managers across a range of supported housing services. You will ensure high standards of delivery, regulatory compliance, strong safeguarding practice, and excellent customer experience.

Working closely with colleagues, commissioners, and external partners, you will drive service improvement, budget management, and innovation while championing a strengths-based, person-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, inspire, and motivate service managers and teams to deliver safe, high-performing services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, including responsibility as the nominated individual for Ofsted-registered services.
  • Manage performance, KPIs, arrears, occupancy and budgets across a portfolio of services.
  • Build strong relationships with commissioners, funders, and external partners.
  • Identify opportunities for service development and contribute to growth plans.
  • Use data and insights to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote community engagement, co-production and inclusive service delivery.
  • Participate in the on‑call rota and travel regularly across sites.
About You
  • Experience of managing supported housing, social care, or similar regulated environments.
  • A proven track record of leading high-performing services and teams.
  • Strong stakeholder and partnership management skills.
  • Confidence in budget management and contract delivery.
  • A collaborative, motivational leadership style.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated young people s service is desirable but not essential. A commitment to ongoing professional development is expected.
